I have long admired FreeBSD. I am personally inclined towards the belief that a sort of public cathedral (as distinguished from a more exclusive, private cathedral such as Microsoft) style of software development and maintenance is superior to the bazaar model, to put a brief gloss on the topic. I also have deep respect for the origin of BSD and the ideals to which it has always aspired.
So, in the interest of both broadening my capabilities and paying homage to great software driven by great people, I have installed PC-BSD 10.1 on my Dell Latitude e6420. It works like a dream! Hopefully this will be the first of many posts extolling the virtues of FreeBSD as my newly constructed workstation serves as a valuable companion to my FreeBSD file server (OpenZFS for the win!).
